Steve watched for nearly twenty minutes as various agents and heroes alike stepped up and attempted to heft Thor’s Asgardian hammer from its place in the floor. When yet another person failed the solder shook his head, finally tired of the obvious joke. “Come on, guys, this is silly. Just pick it up.”
Everyone attempted to explain that it couldn’t be lifted but Steve was having none of it. “It’s just a hammer,” he insisted. “It can’t be that heavy.”
When no one made a move to lift it the solider sighed, walked to the center of the floor… and quickly picked the heavy weapon up.
“There, see?” he said, hefting the hammer up onto his shoulder and grinning around at the others. “No big deal.”
His grin faded into an awkward and confused frown however as he took in the awe-struck looks that everyone was giving him.
“…What?”

Obama: It happens when a father realizes he doesn’t just love his daughter, but also her wife. It happens when a soldier tells his unit that he’s gay and they tell him they knew it all along and they didn’t care ‘cause he was the toughest guy in the unit. It happens when a video sparks a movement to let every single young person know they’re not alone and things will get better. It happens when people look past their ultimately minor differences to see themselves in the hopes and struggles of their fellow human beings! That’s where change is happening! And that’s not just the story of the gay rights movement. That’s the story of America.
This is why I will /always/ vote for Obama.
