A devastating, two-mile-wide tornado touched down near Oklahoma City on Monday, killing at least 51 people—including at least 20 children—decimating homes, businesses and a pair of elementary schools in the suburb of Moore.

According to the state’s medical examiner, the death toll was expected to rise.

The schools—Plaza Towers Elementary and Briarwood Elementary—were leveled by the tornado. It was unclear how many children were in them at the time the twister hit, but according to KFOR-TV, at least seven children died at Plaza Towers, and as many as two dozen more were feared to be trapped inside the rubble. An Associated Press photographer saw rescue workers pull several children out alive. A makeshift triage center was set up in the school’s parking lot.

hackingangel: so joy and i met when joyfulldreams had this httyd thing and we were all, “hey you’re cool let’s follow each other,” and to be honest, we just kinda reblogged each other occasionally & i admired her from afar but then a couple of weeks ago, we started talking. we aren’t, per se, “BFFFFFLL <333333” but i consider her a friend and i love to hear her insights & plus she’s just such a lovely, funny person. especially during the time when she kept dredging up memories from the past (which was really freaking awesome oh my god best) and ugh, i’m just so glad that i followed her

brella: oh my gosh what do i say about brella??? I love how her writing just totally blows me away, with her vivid imagery and everything she writes is just absolutely flawless and beautiful. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL (no, not at all). She’s always so really modest and patient and kind, even with rude anons that just attack her, and she’s so much fun to talk to. I literally could spend an entire day just talking with her, but then she and izzy wouldn’t spend any time together and i wouldn’t want to separate the greatest friendship in the world, would i? :)

superblys: BETH. I met beth at a tinychat after weeks of just kinda stalking her tumblr but not actually following her, if you know what i mean, and her VERY FIRST post about me was judging me and my tumblr (thx beth ur great), but she’s really awesome and really funny, and it’s cool that she has loads of followers, but it sucks that they judge her all the time :(. But Beth is like, the awesomest person in the world (and if you want to get on her good side, be sure to reblog all of her famous text posts)

hezpeller: HEZ, oh my gosh i have so much to say about hez that it’s all crowding around in my head and fighting to get out at the same time. hez was one of my very first yj friends, and i kinda talked to her for ages on this livechat thingy where she was drawing and i was giving really unhelpful advice (and kinda being an ass, but hez was being very very sweet about it), and really, she inspires me to do everything. I am just constantly amazed by her everything. glkajsdfasdgasd.
